Emellia Zamani

Staff Lobbyist, CalTravel

 

At CalTravel's Strategic Planning Session this spring, the number one initiative that emerged was to hire a full-time staff lobbyist in Sacramento. Emellia Zamani joined  CalTravel as its first-ever staff lobbyist on August 9.

She works closely with CalTravel staff, members, and Political Solutions to ensure that the travel and tourism industry has a strong voice in Sacramento, conducting research, tracking legislation, assisting in lobbying efforts, and communicating CalTravel's work. 

Emellia comes from the office of Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian, where she was promoted over the last three and a half years from scheduler to legislative aide to her most recent role as legislative director. 

Prior to that job she spent almost nine years in New York City, working her way up from editorial assistant to editor and manager at Scholastic, Inc.

Emellia graduated from University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in art studio.
