Todd O'Leary

VP of Marketing & Communications, Sonoma County Tourism

 

Todd O’Leary is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Sonoma County Tourism, a position he has held since October 2018. In his role, he is charged with developing promotional strategies that drive awareness of, and visitation to Sonoma County. Together with his team, he is responsible for marketing, communications, media relations, community relations, partnerships, and research. These strategies and promotional programs support tourism as one of Sonoma County’s largest industries, contributing over $2B annually to the local economy.

 

A 20+ year veteran of the travel and tourism industry, O’Leary has spent most of his career with destination marketing organizations. He worked for VISIT Milwaukee (his hometown) in a number of different capacities, and most recently was the Vice President of Global Partnerships and Strategic Alliances at San Francisco Travel.

O’Leary is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning and Marketing. He has earned two industry certifications: Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) from Destinations International, and Certified Tourism Industry Specialist (CTIS) from the American Bus Association. He and his husband Mark live in Novato, CA with their cats Bella and Lola. Todd and Mark love to travel, and enjoy experiencing destinations through the local food, wine and beer scene.
